Why It Matters - Sharing Stories of Tackling ADA Transition Plans

Event Date/Time:

Wednesday, April 12th, 2023
9:00 AM EDT - 1:00 PM EDT

Location:

Virtual

Description:

Please save the date for our upcoming webinar! The New England ADA Center, a project of the Institute for Human Centered Design (IHCD), is excited to discuss with leaders of New England municipalities about how they created successful transition plans for accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Action Guide for Municipalities. A recent study found that the transition plan is the least likely of the ADA's five administrative requirements to be completed. Lack of knowledge was the most commonly cited reason for not having a transition plan.

During the webinar, the leaders will share their experiences and provide insight into how they succeeded in creating a planning and budgeting tool that puts accessibility at the forefront. The event is free. Captioning and sign language interpreting will be provided. For any questions please email Jason Angel at jangel@ihcdesign.org. We will announce the presenters soon. Join us in making accessibility a priority!

This webinar is funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation (NIDILRR).
