Mental Health Conditions and Reasonable Accommodation in the Workplace

Event Date/Time:

Thursday, October 28th, 2021
1:00 PM EDT - 2:00 PM EDT

Location:

Online

Description:

Individuals with psychiatric disabilities often face stigma in the workplace. They may be stereotyped or their disabilities may be misunderstood resulting in a failure for an employer to accommodate an individual with a disability. In this webinar, we will discuss mental health conditions in light of the Americans with Disabilities Act definition of disability and how it can apply in employment. It will then focus on the reasonable accommodation process for employees with psychiatric disabilities and what might be potential forms of accommodation. This webinar may be of particular interest for employers, individuals with disabilities, employment service providers, and all those with a general interest in this topic.

If you require any reasonable accommodations in order to participate in the event, please notify the Northeast ADA Center by contacting Alexis Boytsov, Project Administrator, at least 72 hours prior to the event.
