Every child can be successful in recreation and parks given the right opportunities. What is your Parks and Recreation Agency currently doing to plan for the success of children with disabilities? Join us as we discuss the Continuum of Therapeutic Recreation diagram and the basics of designing programs for children with disabilities in specialized and inclusive environments. This session will focus on programs designated for children ages 5 through 12.

1. Participants will be able to discuss the Continuum of Therapeutic Recreation diagram as it relates to community-based parks and recreation programs.
2. Participants will be able to identify 3 methods of building structure within a program.
3. Participants will be able to develop 3 - 5 ways to establish expectations that are clear and transparent.
4. Professionals will be able to analyze the needs of the program participant through assessment tools to develop reasonable accommodations.
