In This Webinar:
This session will discuss access and disability rights about public transportation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Department of Transportation (DOT) in 2015 revised its rule under the ADA specifically to provide that public transit entities are required to make reasonable modifications to policies, procedures and practices to ensure that transportation programs are accessible to individuals with disabilities. What qualify as reasonable modifications? What does not meet the definition? This webinar will expand your understanding of reasonable modifications in public transit, and practice application of your knowledge though practical case study examples.
Presenter:
Maria Kemplin: Director of the Transportation Initiative, University of Kentucky Human Development Institute (HDI).
