Description:
There are many people with disabilities in the criminal justice system. In 1998, the Supreme Court made clear in a case called Yeskey that the ADA applies to state prisons. This webinar will review how the ADA has been applied to law enforcement and the criminal justice system, including a discussion of recent litigation involving the segregation of people with mental illness in prisons. Illinois CLE certificate will be provided.
