Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), medical services providers must provide appropriate auxiliary aids and services to ensure effective communication with patients with disabilities, as well as companions with disabilities.
This is the first of two 90-minute presentations by Michael Richardson, Director of the Northwest ADA Center, are designed to assist participants in understanding the rights and responsibilities of people with disabilities in public and private healthcare facilities with regard to effective communication. The session topics include:
