Location:

Online/Telephone

Description:

This is the second of a 3 part series, ADA Lessons from Case  Law, where we examine recent court cases as they pertain to different areas of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

A cornerstone of the ADA is the requirement that covered entities provide effective communication. The ADA’s effective communication obligation raises interesting questions for law enforcement and corrections given the unique issues that arise in the criminal justice context. Through an in-depth review of recent court cases and settlement agreements, participants will learn what courts are saying about providing effective communication in the criminal justice system, including best practices and practical strategies.
