WADA “ADA Live!” is a monthly internet-based radio talk show for individuals interested in learning more about their rights and responsibilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The show airs on the first Wednesday of each month from 1:00 – 1:30 p.m. EST and 12 Noon – 12:30 p.m. CST. During each live show, real-time captioning is available. Mark your calendar and join this month’s informative discussion on Pool Lifts on Wednesday - April 2, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. (Eastern). Following the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), people with disabilities waited over 20 years to gain access to swimming pools and spas at hotels, water parks, and more. We will discuss the 2010 ADA Standards for accessible entry and exit to newly constructed and existing swimming pools, wading pools, and spas - and who is required to comply.
SPEAKERS: Barry Whaley, University of Kentucky - Human Development Institute and Donna DeStefano, Tennessee Disability Coalition.
