Business owners, hiring managers, Human Resource HR managers, and SHRM members are invited to attend the 7th Annual EARN Forum. Our mission is to provide education, motivation, and the promotion of hiring individuals with a disability in Cameron County and the Rio Grande Valley.

Our guest speakers are:

Diego Demaya – Mr. Demaya is a consultant and human resources professional currently working as an educator and Legal Specialist for the Southwest ADA Center, a regional ADA Center covering Region VI (Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Arkansas). He provides technical assistance and consulting regarding the various laws and policies that affect individuals with and without disabilities in areas of human resources and labor relations, the private business sector, local and State government, architectural accessibility, education, and Fair Housing.

Mick Normington - Mr. Normington is a business researcher for The Texas Workforce Commission in Texas, where gathers employment data and he interviews company executives about the kinds of workers they need and why. Mick co-wrote the book Working Texas Style about the fast changing labor economy in Texas after the Great Recession. He later co-wrote the follow up book An Atmosphere of Enterprise about job creation trends in Texas.
