Description:

ADA30: Accessibility in the Chippewa Valley In honor of the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), McIntyre Library is hosting an online exhibit that explores the impact the ADA has had on the Chippewa Valley. The exhibit examines the ADA from several different angles, and focuses on the ADA’s impact on the lives of people in our region. Read a poem about the ADA, browse pictures of accessibility features you might not have noticed and come away with a new appreciation of how the ADA has improved the lives of the 20% of people who have a disability in the United States. The virtual exhibition was developed and curated by: Katherine Schneider, Ph.D., Senior Psychologist Emerita, Counseling Services, UW-Eau Claire, Adam Azzalino, Public History graduate student, UW-Eau Claire, and Greg Kocken, Special Collections Librarian and Archivist, UW-Eau Claire. The exhibit can be viewed at: https://lib02.uwec.edu/Omeka/s/ada30/page/ada30 and will remain online through the end of 2020. We invite you to explore and learn more about the ADA through this online exhibit.
