The Department on Disability is proud to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) with a series of activities honoring the progress and continued advocacy of the disability community. + On July 26, Los Angeles City Hall will be illuminated in the colors of the Disability Pride Flag as a powerful symbol of visibility and inclusion. This activation is being coordinated in partnership with Council District 13 and the Chair of the Civil Rights, Equity, Aging, and Disability (CREAD) Committee. + On the Department website, you can view history and timeline of the ADA and a special interview with disability rights photographer and advocate Tom Olin. + As part of the celebration, the City also hosted its first-ever ADA 35th Art Showcase, featuring the work of artists with disabilities in recognition of this milestone year. The theme of the showcase is Equity Through Access. Selected submissions are featured on the website and are displayed throughout July at the Department on Disability’s Office,
