(Bakersfield, CA) – The Independent Living Center of Kern County (ILCKC) is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by hosting a conference on Thursday, July 24 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Bakersfield Marriott, 801 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93301.
Join us for the 2025 Kern County ADA Conference, a premier event dedicated to promoting accessibility, inclusion and advocacy for individuals with disabilities within our communities.
This year’s conference will feature: speakers from Pacific ADA Center and California Civil Rights Department who will be discussing “Hidden Barriers: Identifying and Eliminating Non-Physical Accessibility Challenges” and “Breaking Barriers: Understanding the Complaint Process for Disability Rights.”
Panel discussions will be held on “Kiosk Accessibility” and the “Accessibility Compliance Fund,” with panelists from U.S. Access Board, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services - Office for Civil Rights, California Commission on Disability Access, Golden Law, Division of the State Architect, and City of Bakersfield.
