Session two of our "Service Animals 101" webinar series.

The Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) both cover service animals and assistance animals as significant parts of these pieces of legislation. However, while there are similarities between these pieces of legislation, there are also important differences.

For example, there are different definitions for service animals, and different rules about if or what type of documentation is allowed to be elicited from service animal handlers, depending on whether the handler is in a housing situation (covered by the FHA) or in a place covered by the ADA. So, how can you tell what is a service animal or an emotional support animal/"assistance animal?" What are your rights and responsibilities as a handler…and as a housing or business manager?

During this 90 minute webinar, Miranda Levy will apply the ADA law to the topic of service animals and discuss service animals under the FHA. The presenter will point out comparisons throughout the training, and ample time will be left for questions.
