People with hearing loss regularly face barriers to communication in the workplace. With over 48 million Americans with a hearing loss, discrimination in the workplace is a serious problem. This presentation addresses the legal rights of applicants and employees with hearing loss and the legal obligations of employers in dealing with these individuals in the workforce. Also presented are available resources for managing the employer-employee relationship.
This session will be presented by Lise Hamlin - Director of Public Policy, and David Gayle both from the Hearing Loss Association of America [1].
