This session will provide an overview of the laws that provide protection in the workplace for those who are coping with a cancer diagnosis. Federal laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and state employment discrimination laws protect cancer survivors in the workplace. Discussed in this session will be issues including disclosure, reasonable accommodations, and requesting medical leave. Time for questions and answer will be provided.
