The DBTAC National Network of ADA Centers offers training in a variety of formats to meet the needs of individuals with diverse learning styles. Training includes up-to-date information on the ADA, its implementation and other disability-related issues. Education credits and certificates, such as continuing education units, Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification credit hours and AIA, are available for many of the training opportunities.

The ADA Audio Conference Series provides in-depth information on the ADA, access information technology and other related topics. This program is designed as a springboard to enhance an individual’s existing knowledge base or facilitate continued learning regarding regulations and trends under the ADA. The Audio Conference Series offers a monthly 90-minute, subject-specific session with an interactive opportunity for questions and answers. Each session is delivered via telephone, real-time streaming text and audio via the Internet. In addition to the live conference, individuals can access transcripts and audio recordings from previous sessions in the Audio Conference Series Archives

The DBTAC-New England ADA Center and No Limits Media release fresh and informative videos. In the videos, college students with disabilities share strategies to succeed in staying in school, graduate and get jobs. Students reveal their struggles with self-reporting a disability, and negotiating accommodations in school and at work. Use these videos as part of trainings (each video is 7-9 minutes) and share them with students, education and employment professionals. Visit www.NewEnglandADA.org to view videos. ADA Basic Building Blocks is an introductory Web course on the ADA that explores the legal requirements and spirit of the ADA. The course content is self-paced and organized into 12 topics. Upon completion of the course and all established criteria, you may be eligible to earn 0.5 CEUs, which equates to five contact hours. In addition, the CRCC has approved the course for 3.5 CRCC credits, which equates to three-and-a-half clock hours. You may apply for credit for either or both, as long as you are eligible. While there is no charge to take the Web course, a $50 CEU fee is required in order to receive continuing education credit.

At Your Service is a free, accessible, self-paced Web course for people interested in discovering best practices for working with customers who have disabilities. The course was created as a training tool for customer service representatives employed at the Department of Labor’s One-Stop Centers, as well as for the Navigators in the Disability Program Navigator Initiative that is jointly funded by the DOL and the Social Security Administration. However, anyone interested in learning more about interacting effectively with people who have a variety of disabilities will also benefit from this Web course.

The National ADA Symposium and Expo is the most comprehensive and effective annual event available on the ADA and other disability-related issues. It is designed to meet the specific needs and interests of professionals who are involved in implementing the ADA’s guidelines and regulations. The format encourages networking and group problem solving and activities are conducted in a relaxed environment that encourages participants to share information and solutions from their own communities. “Table discussions” during meals and activities, such as the Expo and evening reception, provide ideal opportunities for networking with participants from across the United States.
