Celebrate ADA 25 With Lex Frieden

<p>Lex Frieden is an American educator, researcher, disability policy expert and disability rights activist. Called &quot;a chief architect of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA),&quot; he will present his powerful personal story of overcoming challenges in a non-ADA world. The motivation for him becoming an activist and leading change to make American society more accessible for people with disabilities will be explored. Professor Frieden was on stage with President Bush at the White House for the ADA signing ceremony on July 26, 1990. The legislation was supported by members of both political parties in Congress as well as the White House. The ADA legislation is a great American civil rights act helping more than 57 million people with disabilities gain access to society. It was the first comprehensive disability rights legislation in the world and made the United States a leader in the global disabilities movement. Join in learning the &quot;behind-the-scenes&quot; story of how the ADA legislation impacted and transformed the lives of millions of Americans.
