11:00 AM CST - 1:00 PM CST

Location of Event (Web or City, State):

Bob Bullock Texas History Museum, 1800 Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78701

Description:

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed by President George H.W. Bush, a Texan, 25 years ago on July 26, 1990. Much of the vision and leadership for this historical effort came from the state of Texas. Join us in Austin at the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum as we honor the Texas Trailblazers - past, present, and future - and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ADA. Keynote speaker is Lex Frieden, a Texan, former Executive Director of the National Council on Disabilities (NCD), and one of the chief authors of the ADA. The event will also include a rare photography exhibit of the disability rights movement by photographer Tom Olin. A box lunch will be provided for the first 300 people that register.
